They’re pouring latex on him to make a false chest. So that they can place the arc reactor prop in him and make it legitimately look like it’s embedded in is flesh and with tears and scar tissue. The latex is colored so they can see where they are applying and how thick the layers are. It will then be airbrushed to his skintone and details like nipples scar tissue discoloration will be added.
Here’s that picture:

Then the reactor prop is added to the dimple. Basically the latex becomes fake skin and they tear part of the center open to embed it.

Now you can see how realistic is looks. Much more realistic than the first Iron Man movie where they opted for CG. And better than just pasting the prop on top with scar tissue.

Pirate TechnicsThe Baobab Tree.
Standing 18 meters (or 46 feet) tall, is an awesome new tree sculpture made of 80 different types of fabric. The Baobab Tree, created by Pirate Technics, was inspired by Africa’s baobab tree, which is the oldest living specimen in Africa and has long been a symbol for community. Rings about 16 feet wide were used to build the tree before it was wrapped with fabric. It sits outside the Southbank Centre in London, England. (by alice)

This is an ancient sardinian votive statuatte, called “navicella nuragica”. It’s a bronze artifact from the nuragic civilization, date back to the 15th century A.C. I choose it for different meanings: my sardinian roots, the love for the history and knowledge, the shape, the sea and because represents the journey of the soul from the body to the afterworld.
Ad the base of the ship there is the word “Shadowplay”, from the title of the Joy Division’ song. JD is my favourite group, Shadowplay is one of the most powerful and poetic song of every time and I really really love music. Today I made the tattoo and today, 18th may, is the 32th anniversary of the death of Ian Curtis.
ps: sorry for my bad english.
